About the Coach

Ron is a veteran hunter of over 25 years experience. He is a native of the area who has hunted every type of wild game available. He hunts for the pleasure of the sport, the connection with nature and simply because he enjoys dining on wild game. Ron rarely buys meat from the "store"

The Coach has a goal: He would like to provide a limited number of serious hunters with a good opportunity to bag a BIG deer.

His methods are simple but effective:

  • Carefully regulate the number of bow hunters
  • Permit no shot gun hunting
  • Separate hunting parties on different tracts of land to prevent overcrowding
  • Continue to expand the acreage he will manage

About the Connections

Currently, Ron has four separate tracts of land under his management. They are 350-750 acres each, totalling over 2000 acres. This acreage has had little or no hunting pressure for over 20 years. The area lies along the banks of the Little Wabash River, the Elm River, and the Dry Fork Creek in Clay and Wayne counties in Illinois.
